Tanzania
Investment Development
Tanzania is located in Eastern Africa and shares borders with Burundi, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia. Tanzania has 1,424 km of coastline on the Indian Ocean and is the largest nation in the East Africa, both in land area and population. There is a varied topography with a narrow coastal belt with tropical beaches, plateau covered by savanna and bush, a Rift Valley and unparalleled views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are three major seaports and various fresh water lakes.
Over the past two decades, Tanzania has been
transformed from a centrally planned/command economy to a market
oriented
system through successful implementation of trade liberalization
measures. The
Government has taken deliberate steps to encourage private sector led
growth.
